Thankful

Thankful – one word that means so much.  As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, the staff here at Ronald McDonald House Charities reflect on that word and the fact it holds so much meaning.  The last few years have seen a roller coaster of changes.  As we have maneuvered through an ever-evolving world, we are so thankful for our community for standing with us, believing in us, and supporting us as we continue to provide an environment of love, community, and hope to families of seriously ill children.

As we share messages from our families, know that what we do could not be possible without your generosity and compassion for our mission.  Your unwavering support has continued to have a direct and profound impact on families of children who are receiving medical treatment in the Roanoke area.

Please enjoy these powerful words from our families that show what RMHC-SWVA meant to them. These are the reasons why we pledge to ourselves and our supporters to always keep our families at the heart of our mission.

“Thank you seems like a small word. To me, there’s not enough words to say about how grateful I am for the Ronald McDonald House and everyone that has made our lives easier here. They stay here soothes the soul and gives us an inner peace. It makes things less stressful, in all aspects. I want to say Thank You to Everyone that contributed to The Ronald McDonald House and to the staff. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
– Pam Mullins

“Dear Ronald McDonald House, Words cannot describe how thankful me & my family are for the organization to take us in while our precious baby girl Khloe was in the ICU! We felt the love that this house is built with. The kindness from every employee and volunteer. Thank you for being here when we needed you the most.”
– Melinda & Matthew

“I love this place and the people here were so sweet and I am so happy for this place, and we love it!!!”

“My husband and I would like to thank you for our stay at the Ronald McDonald House. We felt so safe and secure and at peace. Our baby is in the NICU, growing and learning to eat. The staff at the house is wonderful, warm, and professional. We are truly grateful for the staff and donors, who are there to help, when our lives need some encouragement. Thank you.”
