Meals from the Heart

Unfortunately, we are unable to have any visitors or volunteers in the House at this time as we continue to observe social distancing practices and prepare our House to welcome families again.  Although we cannot currently allow volunteers in our House, there are several ways for you to still get involved and help support our mission of Keeping families close®.

Check out these wonderful ways to help from home.

Meals from the Heart

When a child is receiving medical treatment for serious illness or injury, taking away the worry of “what’s for dinner?” is a wonderful relief. Cooking a home-cooked meal is one of the most important ways we can provide our guest families with the comfort of home, especially after a long day at the hospital. You don’t need to be an expert chef! You just have to want to give families a little peace of mind.

Thanks to our Meals from the Heart Program, meals are prepared nightly by individuals and community groups. We have a large commercial kitchen to prepare meals on site served buffet style between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Meals from the Heart Handbook

"For the first three days Ashley said she cried when she came back from the hospital exhausted, and found a meal on the table. “Just to come home, (home, laugh), come here and have that was just such a burden off your shoulders."

- Ashlee Speed
