One of our oldest fundraisers, the Ronald McDonald House Charity Holiday Card has proven to be a legacy of love.
Each year we call on our community artists to design our holiday card. The chosen work of art becomes our annual Holiday Card.

This year, we are excited to feature the artwork of Carolyn Goodspeed

Carolyn Goodspeed has been educating and tutoring students of all ages for more than thirty years. After completing her doctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania, she opened Goodspeed Learning Consultants on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke. In addition to doting on her children, grandchildren and brand-new great grandson, Carolyn has a love of animals. Her love of animals is reflected in the many members of her dog family and her growing collection of horses, ponies and burros at Brookhaven.

Carolyn has a long history with Ronald McDonald House and its extraordinary work. After the premature birth of her second child, Carolyn stayed at Ronald McDonald House to be close to her new baby, and “this accessibility was a Godsend.” Most recently, Carolyn’s involvement had been rekindled by her deep friendship with the late Margaret Lawson, a mainstay of this facility and its staff for many years. Ms. Lawson encouraged Carolyn to use her artistic ability and love of animals to support the work of the Ronald McDonald House.

It’s is Carolyn’s honor to dedicate this painting to her dear friend Margaret Lawson.

Cards are available for pre-order now at the Ronald McDonald House and throughout the holiday season while supplies last.
